Job Title: Workday Administrator (HCM, Recruiting, Talent, Advanced Compensation)
Location: Plano or Remote
Department: IT / Human Resources
Reports To: IT Manager / IT Director
Travel: Up to 30%
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Workday Administrator to manage and optimize our Workday HCM, Recruiting, Talent, and Advanced Compensation modules. This role will report directly to the IT department while working closely with HR to ensure the seamless operation, configuration, and enhancement of the Workday system. The Workday Administrator will serve as a key resource for both technical and business teams, ensuring that HR processes and workflows are aligned with business goals and that the system is configured to support efficient and compliant HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
Workday System Administration (HCM, Recruiting, Talent, Advanced Compensation):
- Configure, maintain, and optimize Workday HCM, Recruiting, Talent, and Advanced Compensation modules to meet business requirements and HR processes.
- Support system upgrades, releases, and new feature implementations, ensuring minimal disruption to HR operations.
- Oversee and manage the configuration of business processes, workflows, and system settings across Workday modules.
- Maintain user roles, security, and permissions in collaboration with IT and HR teams to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
HCM (Human Capital Management)
- Work with HR teams to ensure that the HCM module supports organizational needs, such as data management and employee lifecycle processes.
- Provide ongoing support for data integrity, reporting, and issue resolution within the HCM module.
Recruiting And Talent Management
- Configure and maintain the Workday Recruiting module.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure that recruiting processes within Workday are efficient, effective, and aligned with organizational goals.
- Develop and maintain reporting and analytics around recruiting metrics to inform HR.
Talent Management
- Support the administration and configuration of the Talent module, including performance management, goal setting, and employee development.
- Work with HR to ensure the Talent Management module aligns with company-wide talent strategies, such as career development and succession planning.
- Ensure performance reviews and talent assessments are configured to meet organizational requirements and timelines.
Advanced Compensation
- Configure and manage the Advanced Compensation module, including base pay, merit increases, bonus plans, and other compensation modes if necessary.
- Work with HR to develop and maintain compensation structures that align with company compensation strategies.
- Provide support for planning cycles, including data uploads, reporting, and system configuration.
Reporting And Data Management
- Develop and maintain standard and custom reports in Workday, to support HR decision-making.
- Provide ad-hoc reporting to HR, management, and other stakeholders, ensuring data accuracy and insights into key HR metrics.
- Work with HR and IT teams to monitor data quality and ensure that information is accurate, timely, and actionable.
Collaboration With IT And HR Teams
- Serve as the bridge between the IT department and HR, ensuring that technical requirements are met while also addressing business needs.
- Collaborate with HR and IT teams to resolve system issues, implement process improvements, and integrate new Workday functionality.
- Provide HR with expert guidance on system capabilities and potential improvements in HR processes.
User Support And Training
- Offer tier 1 and tier 2 support for HR users on Workday-related issues, troubleshooting problems and providing solutions.
- Develop and maintain training materials and user guides for HR users to maximize Workday adoption and system utilization.
- Conduct training sessions for HR personnel, managers, and employees on new features, updates, and processes.
Continuous Improvement And Optimization
- Regularly assess Workday processes to identify areas for optimization and automation, working with HR and IT to implement improvements.
- Stay up-to-date with Workday updates, new features, and best practices to ensure the system is being used to its full potential.
- Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for Workday utilization and growth as part of the HRIS/IT roadmap.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Workday Administrator, specifically in HCM, Recruiting, Talent, and Advanced Compensation modules.
- Strong knowledge of Workday security roles, configuration, and system administration.
- Experience in configuring and maintaining Workday Recruiting, Talent Management, and Compensation modules.
- Solid understanding of HR processes and workflows, with the ability to translate business requirements into system configurations.
- Experience with Workday reporting tools to develop standard and custom reports.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both IT and HR teams.
- High attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Workday Certification in HCM, Recruiting, Talent, or Compensation is a plus.
- Experience with Workday integrations, including third-party systems or data feeds.
- Knowledge of global Workday configurations and processes for multi-country implementations is desirable.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position with standard working hours.
- Occasional overtime or after-hours work may be required for system updates or urgent issue resolution.
- Flexible remote work options may be available.
