About The Team
Workday is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Marketing Planning Advisor to join our Marketing Strategic Planning team. This role will be pivotal in driving efficiency and effectiveness within our marketing planning processes.
The team is responsible for turning Workday’s corporate priorities and goals into a strategy and plan to guide the investment and decisions that Marketing makes, then work with Marketing leaders across the organization to make that strategy and plan a reality. This requires understanding the big picture of Workday’s business, audiences, competitors, and marketing motions combined with the ability to execute.
You will collaborate closely with marketing leaders, analytics, finance, marketing technology and other cross-functional teams to implement and execute on processes to ensure strategic alignment and optimize our marketing investments and efforts.
About The Role
As a Marketing Planning Advisor, you will be a key driver of change, focusing on enhancing our marketing budget and program planning processes. Your expertise in marketing planning, coupled with your ability to influence and communicate effectively, will be crucial in this role. You will:
- Optimize Marketing Planning Processes: Work with Marketing Leadership and operators to define and revamp processes for marketing program and budget planning, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities and goals.
- Develop and Maintain Planning Frameworks: Create and maintain frameworks, templates, and standards for marketing budget and program planning; ensuring consistency and best practices.
- Lead Change Management: Identify areas for process improvement and lead change management initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Facilitate Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing leaders, analytics, finance, and other teams to ensure seamless coordination between supporting teams and planners.
- Enhance Executive Collaboration and Readouts: Contribute to the development of executive-level reporting and presentations, providing insights and recommendations on marketing program performance.
- Support Annual and Quarterly Planning: Participate in the annual and quarterly planning processes, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and providing valuable insights.
- Advise Senior Leaders: Act as a thought partner to marketing executives as they develop, refine and present their plans plans
- Champion Best Practices: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in marketing budget program planning. Drive innovation to ensure Workday operates as a best in class marketing planning organization
- Support implementation of Planning Software (Uptempo): Work with Project Managers, Systems teams and external consultants to ensure our planning software is configured in a way to best support our budget and program planning processes
About You
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in marketing program planning, process management, or related roles within a B2B environment (including implementation services for planning software)
- Proven track record of driving process improvement and change management initiatives.
- Experience creating and maintaining marketing program planning frameworks.
- Strong understanding of marketing functions and their interdependencies.
- Experience with budget and campaign planning, prioritization, and alignment models
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, including executives.
- Strong familiarity with planning tools
Other Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across teams.
- Proficiency in Google Suite (esp. Sheets and Slides), Slack, Uptempo and other enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with Forrester Planning frameworks
- Prior experience supporting implementation of marketing software
- Self-motivated and resourceful, ability to navigate ambiguity.

Workday Pay Transparency Statement
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $106,400 USD - $159,600 USD
Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $89,900 USD - $159,600 USD
If performed in Colorado, the pay range for this job is $94,600 - $141,800 USD based on min and max pay range for that role if performed in CO.
