Purpose of Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Benefit Specialist to support our People Services Benefits team. This role will focus on employee benefit inquiries, vendor communications, file integrations with carriers, and benefits administration. Familiarity with U.S. benefits, 401(k) plans, and Canadian benefits is a plus.
Essential Functions and Job Duties:
- Employee Inquiries: Respond to employee questions about benefits, 401(k), and related programs. Provide clear, timely information regarding U.S. benefit options.
- Vendor Communications: Correspond with benefits vendors (insurance carriers, retirement plan providers) for plan changes, enrollments, and issue resolution.
- Workday File Integration: Coordinate file transmissions between Workday and benefits carriers, ensuring accurate data integration for U.S. benefits and 401(k) plans.
- Benefit Document Management: Assist with the creation and distribution of U.S. benefits documents (Form 5500, SPDs, SBCs, Qualified Life Events). Knowledge of Canadian benefits documents is a plus.
- New Hire Orientation: Present benefits offerings, including 401(k) options, during new hire orientations.
- Excel Reporting: Utilize Excel for reporting and data analysis related to U.S. employee benefits and 401(k) plan participation.
- Ticketing & Email Systems: Manage benefit-related inquiries via email and ticketing systems, ensuring efficient issue resolution.
Experience and Skills:
- Experience: Previous benefits administration experience, focusing on U.S. benefits and 401(k) plans.
- Workday Expertise: Experience with HRIS platforms and Workday.
- Excel Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel for reporting and analysis.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate complex benefits information clearly to employees.
- Organizational Skills: Efficient and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred: Experience with Canadian benefits (group insurance, RRSPs) is a plus.
