Position Summary: As an Experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will work closely with our veterinarians to provide high-quality care to our patients. Your role will include anesthesia, surgical assistance, and dentistry. You will also lead and mentor a team of passionate veterinary assistants, ensuring the clinic runs smoothly and that new team members are trained effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in surgeries and dental procedures, including anesthesia monitoring and surgical preparation
- Provide anesthesia support and manage patient recovery
- Perform dental cleanings and dental radiographs
- Lead and mentor a team of veterinary assistants, providing guidance and training
- Work closely with veterinarians to perform patient assessments and provide quality care
- Ensure proper documentation of patient records, including treatment and procedures
- Help manage clinic workflow, ensuring efficiency and patient care standards are met
- Educate clients on at-home care, preventive treatments, and health concerns
- Maintain medical equipment and inventory, ensuring everything is in working order
- Maintain a safe and sterile environment in all treatment areas
Qualifications:
- Current state licensure as a Veterinary Technician (LVT)
- At least 2 years of experience as an LVT, with proficiency in anesthesia, surgical assistance, and dentistry
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and train team members
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for patient care
- Ability to multitask in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
