The Lead Benefits Analyst will oversee a diverse range of employee benefits and programs. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, as you will conduct comprehensive data analytics to gain insights into benefit utilization and cost patterns. Your findings will drive informed recommendations for program enhancements and adjustments.
In this role, the Lead Analyst will leverage extensive expertise in employee benefits to ensure exceptional customer service, uphold regulatory compliance, and contribute to the development and interpretation of policies and programs. Your ability to analyze data and translate it into actionable strategies will be critical in optimizing our benefits offerings and supporting the overall well-being of our employees.
Responsibilities
- Lead the monitoring of benefit trends and ensure an updated understanding of benefits legislation. Drive the development and dissemination of communication strategies while providing advanced training and support to the Benefits team, employees, and physicians.
- Oversee the management of assigned benefits and programs by applying relevant regulations, policies, and procedures to effectively address business challenges and daily operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and advise management on strategic benefit related initiatives.
- Forge strong partnerships with the finance team to achieve financial budgetary objectives and ensure the effective allocation of resources.
- Assist in the consolidation, monitoring, and forecasting of the benefits budget to optimize financial performance.
- Proactively identify and evaluate vendor programs that enhance value or reduce costs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Conduct comprehensive utilization and benchmarking analyses; recommend and implement
innovative program modifications and best practices as approved. Additionally, manage Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) to source optimal solutions.
- Cultivate and manage ongoing vendor relationships to guarantee compliance with plan provisions while consistently achieving high service delivery standards.
- Provide strategic operational and administrative support for other benefit vendors, programs, and initiatives as necessary to drive overall effectiveness.
- Maintain and enhance expertise by engaging in professional development opportunities and staying informed through relevant publications to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and best practices in benefits administration.
- Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Alternative qualifications may be considered based on equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years of substantial experience in benefits analysis.
- Foundational knowledge in business operations, financial principles, and human resource
management.
- Certifications: Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) and Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Excel is essential for effective data analysis and reporting.
- Candidates must possess strong analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and trends to make informed decisions about benefits programs.
- A thorough understanding of benefit-related regulations and requirements, including COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and PPACA, is essential.
- A background in accounting and/or finance is highly preferred, as is familiarity with vendor contract management and broker partnerships.
- Ability to develop and deliver well-structured PowerPoint presentations is required to effectively communicate findings and strategies.
- Workday and ADP experience highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Physical Demands
- Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing;
viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Ability to lift to 15 lbs. independently not to exceed 50 lbs. without help.
