As the Global Payroll Manager, you will oversee all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and executing timely payments to employees. You will collaborate with various functions to gather and validate payroll information and resolve payroll discrepancies. This position will report into the VP, Controller, and will directly lead another individual while also collaborating and guiding regional teams on payroll processing. You will work cross functionally and collaborate with key business partners (Talent, Legal, Accounting, Tax, regional teams, etc.) to achieve departmental and company goals.
The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of payroll regulations, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. To be successful, the individual must be able to communicate effectively across the organization, creatively solve problems, scale processes, and coach fellow team members.
Responsibilities:
- Payroll Operations: Ensure accurate and timely payroll for US and Canada employees.
- Global Expansion: Drive payroll processes in new countries.
- Compliance: Conduct audits and ensure adherence to laws and regulations.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Employee Support: Provide exceptional customer service for payroll inquiries.
- System Management: Utilize and optimize Workday, ADP, and other applications.
- EOR Oversight: Manage Employer of Record situations.
- Process Improvement: Implement enhancements for efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and lead the payroll team.
- Reporting: Prepare and analyze payroll reports for senior management.
- Confidentiality: Maintain data security standards.
- Expertise: Be the subject matter expert in payroll best practices.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 8+ years in payroll management, focusing on US and Canada; international experience preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Certification: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Workday and ADP; EOR experience.
- Leadership: Ability to lead and develop diverse teams.
- Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Collaboration: Effective at building relationships at all levels.
- Resilience: Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in consumer product, retail, or manufacturing preferred.
- Must be willing to work in office 4 days a week.
