We are seeking a Director of Benefits for a full-time and direct hire role for one of our amazing partners in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This is a hybrid role, so you must be local or willing to relocate to South Florida.
You will be responsible for leading daily and monthly activities for the benefits segment of HR. This segment designs, develops, and implements benefit programs and related employee communications programs. You will also make sure that all benefits designs comply with applicable legislation and management directives. You will manage the benefit programs' costs, administrative processes, and financial impacts to the company.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as lead representative and liaison between HR, external vendors, and company stakeholders for open enrollment.
- Help in the design, development and implementation of the benefits business strategy, which includes health and welfare, and qualified/non-qualified benefit programs based on corporate goals and objectives
- Partner with the Broker of Record to analyze existing benefit programs and conduct market research on prevailing practices amongst other competing organizations to provide in-depth analysis with recommendation for benefit enhancements.
- Oversee daily and monthly activities of the benefits team and standard operating procedures.
- Be a strategic HR business partner to entities and operating departments
- Help foster and develop a company culture that promotes effective communication and service excellence
- Ensure that the benefits team and benefit plans are in compliance with all applicable federal laws, regulations, and guidelines like ERISA, EEO, FLSA, and FMLA.
- Closely monitor and drive the progression of the project teams for on-time and on-budget implementation.
- Develop budgets for all benefit programs including Health and Welfare, time away and retirement.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Human Resources in a management role, or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
- Human Resources experience in the hospitality industry is needed.
- Experience with deferred bonus plans, long-term incentive programs (LTIPs), and non-qualified supplemental retirement plans (SRPs).
- Knowledge of best practices in Health and Welfare, time away, retirement, and perk programs.
- Experience with system-wide initiatives such as implementing new HRIS systems, and new benefits providers/TPAs like health and welfare, 401k, and voluntary benefits.
- Experience negotiating contracts with benefits vendors.
- Experience with Workday implementations is a big plus.
- Actively influence and provide direction to people at various levels within and outside of the organization to create mutually acceptable solutions.
- Set a clear direction for the department to ensure the successful execution of the strategic plan.
- Use data to monitor progress, make necessary course corrections and ensures follow-through.
- Come up with innovative ways to deal with organizational problems and opportunities.
- Ability to develop successful working relationships with people within and outside of the department that includes senior management, peers, and subordinates.
- Coach and develop others skills and competencies by planning effective development activities. Provide staff with clear direction and line-of-sight in regards to their respective roles in achieving the business strategy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal with a diverse range of people, including the upper levels of corporate management.
- Self-sufficient to require limited supervision over job knowledge, expectations and successful project completion.
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field
