We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated Payroll Tax Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll tax compliance, including federal, state, and local tax filings. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of payroll taxes, government regulations, and the ability to navigate complex payroll systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns (e.g., 941, 940, state withholding, unemployment).
- Reconcile payroll tax accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Research and stay up to date on payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Assist with year-end tax processing (W-2, 1099, etc.).
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate tax reporting.
- Assist with audits and tax-related inquiries from governmental agencies.
- Maintain accurate records for all payroll tax-related transactions.
- Provide guidance and support to the payroll team regarding tax-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in payroll tax compliance or related field.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Experience with payroll software and tax compliance tools (e.g., ADP, Workday, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with multi-state payroll tax compliance.
- Familiarity with wage garnishments and payroll audits.
