We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Accounting Operations and Automation to lead the automation and optimization of accounting operations. In this role, you will oversee the strategy, design, and implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives to streamline our accounting functions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive efficiencies, enhance the accuracy of financial operations, and implement innovative solutions that align with organizational goals.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and implement the overall strategy for automating core accounting processes (e.g., accounts payable/receivable, month-end close) to improve operational efficiency.
- Identify inefficiencies in accounting workflows and lead process improvement initiatives to streamline operations and reduce manual tasks.
- Oversee end-to-end automation projects, including planning, execution, and post-implementation analysis, ensuring they align with business objectives and timelines.
- Work closely with IT, finance, and other departments to integrate automation solutions and ensure successful implementation.
- Ensure that automated accounting processes comply with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal control frameworks.
- Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of automation tools and train staff on new systems and processes.
- Leverage data analytics to identify trends and opportunities for further process improvements or cost savings in accounting operations.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, particularly within automated environments, and manage risks associated with automation.
What You'll Bring:
- 5+ years of experience in finance operations, accounting process improvement, or finance automation
- Proven experience in managing and implementing automation tools (e.g., Robotic Process Automation (RPA), AI-based solutions, ERP systems like Workday, SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite). Preferred Workday Financials and Accounting Center experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end close processes
- Exceptional project management skills, with experience in leading large-scale, cross-functional projects
- Experience in driving change and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within finance teams. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related experience
