The Compensation Analyst focuses on implementing and administering compensation programs and evaluates and provides information related to job offer salaries and internal promotion adjustments. This position also conducts market pricing using published salary surveys and manages survey participation on behalf of the company. This position conducts Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) evaluations to determine exemption status, recommends titles, and analyzes impacts of changes to compensation programs (fixed and variable). This position also participates in and provides support for larger compensation projects including structure maintenance and program recommendations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Compensation Analysis
- Collaborates with HR Business Partners to evaluate new and existing jobs, providing recommendations on titles, levels, and pay grades.
- Partners with the Talent Acquisition Team to review escalated salary offers and provide recommendations.
- Evaluates and assesses exemption status for new/revised jobs using FLSA standards.
- Provides support for Non-Qualified compensation plan administration.
Market Pricing and Analysis
- Conducts market pricing of new and existing jobs, provides recommendations, and analyzes potential impact of recommendations.
- Participates and provides company submissions for annual salary surveys.
- Analyzes new survey data sets, assists in making recommendations for adjustments to salaries, job grades and structure movement.
Compensation HRIS Support/Auditing Responsibilities
- Utilizes Workday reporting for Compensation monitoring and auditing.
- Audits minimum wage requirements for both Exempt and Non-Exempt employees.
- Conducts audits of and maintains Compensation information in Workday.
- Participates in Workday testing for Compensation-related updates and integrations.
- Implements approved compensation/market review recommendations in Workday.
Annual Compensation Processes
- Provides support for annual bonus and merit cycles, including HRIS system module setup and testing, troubleshooting, and reporting.
Collaboration
- Works with HR team on cross-functional initiatives and performs general administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA):
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related work experience required
- 3+ years of Compensation work experience required
- Advanced Excel skills, along with Strong MS Office skills including Word and PowerPoint. Must be comfortable with large complex spreadsheet design & analysis to understand and develop insights from data.
- Must possess strong attention to detail and ability to develop and perform data and process audits.
- Ability to organize detailed data and consolidate complex information in a manner that results in user-friendly concise communication.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently in the completion of assigned tasks.
- Familiarity with FLSA compliance guidelines and federal, state and municipality compliance guidelines.
- Excellent critical thinking skills, communication skills, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines and coordinate projects amidst competing priorities.
